Frequently Asked Questions
Never leave a harnessed cat unsupervised. Your cat may be unable to escape from danger if they are tied up outside, and they also may be able to get out of the harness and run away. The harness is only intended for use with a suitable leash and human supervision.Click the links to skip to a certain question

What size is right for my cat?
Properly measuring your cat is the only way to ensure a perfect fit. If the harness does not fit correctly, your cat may be uncomfortable, and will be more likely to escape the harness.
To measure your cat, use a flexible measuring tape to measure in these two places: around the neck, and just behind the front legs (or the girth), as illustrated in the image below.
The measuring tape should be snug against your cat’s body, but you don’t want to make it too tight and squeeze your cat. Once you have your cat’s measurements, find what size harness your cat would wear with our size chart. You should be able to fit one to two fingers in between the harness and your cat. How do I put the harness onto my cat?
Open the velcro closures. Simply place the harness onto your cat’s back and velcro the neck strap closed. The strap should be snug, with just enough room to slip two fingers in between the harness and your cat’s neck. Velcro the girth strap closed; this strap should also have enough room to slip in two fingers. Cats will often lie on the ground or walk strangely the first time they wear a harness. This is not necessarily because it is too tight. Wait a bit before deciding if the harness needs to be adjusted. Your cat may simply be unfamiliar or unaccustomed to the feeling of wearing a harness.
How do I care for the harness?
Handwash the harness in soap and warm water. Line dry.
What are the Petoodles harnesses made out of?
The Petoodles harness features three layers designed to provide eye appeal, durability, and comfort. A layer of stabilizer is sandwiched between a printed cotton exterior and soft cotton lining.
The heavy duty D-ring is attached to the harness by a strong webbing strap.
What sets the Petoodles harness apart?
After trying a variety of harness styles, we found that the Petoodles’ vest design is the only one that cats feel truly free and comfortable in. It’s designed in a shape that doesn’t hinder the movements of an adventuring cat.
